Effervescence
Pretty pale skin, twirling and leaping in pretty pale pink.
Wraith-like as they glide across the mirrored room,
my nose pressed up against the viewing window;
the only deep brown, a polished wood floor.
Oh, how that pretty pale pink reflects against that shine.
I longed for such a hue to be mine.
If I gobble them up like frosted cupcakes,
absorb their wraith essence, their pale hue.
I could take their brightness, their effervescence.
Fly the way their outstretched limbs do.
Become the freedom they claim,
simply existing.
