Resonance rolls in
like a blue blanket
tossed from a bed
at morning’s nudge—
a body leaping free,
barefoot, zircon-bright,
bounding down the stairs,
past the dining room
with its empty chairs,
into the crack-tiled kitchen
to flick the kettle on,
toes splaying on maple,listening
as the boil settles,
steam lifting,
sun rising
in the frosted window.
