By Aiman Shah
You tell me I’m a seashell on the shore of time
Persisting and prevailing the weight of something blue
I tell you I haven’t uttered something promising in so long,
It almost makes me feel like I’m through.
These past few months,
I’ve been growing in and out of people’s lives
And their doorsteps have been getting smaller and smaller under my shoes
But there was a time when I thought people prevailed
Like the lines on a person’s palm did.
I guess I was still a little child
When life shook me out of you.
